Youth Art League

Art programs and opportunities for young artists

Youth Art League

Our premier youth art programβ€”Youth Art Leagueβ€”exists to provide young people with an opportunity to express themselves creatively and develop their artistic abilities. Lessons are designed to be both informative and enjoyable for all of our students. Past lessons have included acrylic pour, paper art, drawing, pastels, watercolor, pen and ink, sculpting with paper, and painting with 3-D glasses, just to name a few. All materials are provided by the Gateway Art Gallery, supported in part by a grant from Clay Electric Co-Op.

  • We are adjusting the age groups again to accommodate even more children into the program and adding another monthly session
  • YAL classes will once again be on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in 2027
    ages 6-8 & ages 12-14: 2nd Saturday @ 10:00-11:30 am
    ages 9-11 & ages 15-17: 4th Saturday @ 10:00-11:30 am
TKA (grades 1-3) on the 2nd Wednesday @ 3:00-4:30 pm

How to join YAL

  • Enrollment fee: $20/year for one age group (enrollment opens in November 2026)
  • There are forms that must be filled out in order to finalize registration and this can not be done on class day due to lesson planning and time constraints.
  • Once registered, be sure to arrive at each lesson a few minutes early to give our volunteers time to get your child checked in and seated before class begins.
  • Parents are welcomed to stay on site during the lesson if desired.
