Monday, July 27
@ 12:00 pm
Our July meeting will open with a short business session and upcoming event announcements, then we'll turn the floor over to Kent Harriss, one of our own woodworking artists. Kent is bringing samples of his work at every stage of the process, from raw wood to finished piece. He will walk us through how he selects his wood, how he handles the spalting process himself, and share practical tips on woodturning. It is a hands-on Show and Tell that gives members a real look at what goes into each piece before it ever reaches the Gallery floor. Whether you work in wood yourself or have simply admired Kent's pieces in the Gallery, this is a good opportunity to hear directly from the artist about his craft.
Things to know:
Lunch is available with a $8.00 donation (cash only please). Please check in at the front table to get your lunch arm band.
Food provided by: TBA
Soda, water, iced tea, and self-serve hot & cold brew coffee
- Parking close to our building is often a challenge. You may have a short walk to our door. Please do not park directly in front of our doors, as we need to leave this space open for food delivery.
- IMPORTANT NOTICE: The parking lot directly behind our building is closed to the public. Please do not park there or you may be towed. You may park across the side street behind Truly You Med Spa, however, as they were kind enough to allow us to use it when we have events.
- Food service begins at noon. Guests who arrive early are asked to seat themselves and wait until their table number is called before lining up to be served.
- Leftovers may be purchased for a small donation. Every dollar tossed into the bowl goes directly toward the next luncheon.
- We sometimes do a 50/50 to help offset the cost of food. Bring a few extra dollars if you’d like to participate. (This is completely optional.)
- Guests are asked to please silence all cell phones during the speaker presentation, and please socialize after the speaker is finished, as it can be difficult for others to hear when guests around them are talking.
If you would be interested in speaking at our luncheon, providing a dessert, or sponsoring an event, please get in touch.
