Lake City: A City Remembered
John Clare Stokes, an award-winning and well-known photographer, produced the current exhibit in the lobby of the downtown Columbia County Library. Entitled "Lake City: A City Remembered", long-time residents will appreciate the photographs covering decades of local history. You'll view such photos as the fire in The Lovely Shop and the Moving Experience of the Episcopal Church. This is a compilation of the photography taken by Stokes when he was a news photographer for the Lake City Reporter. For Stokes, his personal favorites are those of the Lovely Shop and the Lake City logo, which he designed. Stokes is currently known for his artistic photography, found at the Gateway Art Gallery, as well as his poetry.
