I really was drawn to Jim Riley’s The Approach and Althea after the rain painting in the gallery. I asked the question, why didn’t you put a door in the Approach like the Althea? I should have known better, for it’s like when you have a very sublime photograph and you’re asked, what camera did you use? First, the doors a window and second the work comes from the mind and isn’t some literal representation, like a Chagall.
I should have known better!
