Once a photographer said, he never looks at other photographers work, he doesn’t want to be influenced. Not me, I’m constantly inspired and emulate other artists, not just photographers. How about you?
Same. I don't study them but I like to be inspired by the feelings an image evokes.
I read somewhere that the composer Ramin Djawadi doesn't listen to other movie score (or, presumably, even watch movies) so he doesn't contaminate his own work. I can't even imagine!
Right in our own Gateway Gallery your cyanotypes inspire me to the simplicity I aspire to, Jim’s work to the composition and how it draws me to want to compose my subject. There are many other artists in the Gallery that I learn from.
I was a horse photographer in a past life and Robert Vavra was an inspiration to me. I own several of his books and still drool over them on occasion. This is one of my favorites.
